Is James Reid’s sis joining showbiz?
Congratulations to Paolo Ballesteros for winning the Best Actor award for “Die Beautiful” and to the film’s director Jun Robles Lana and producers Perci Intalan and Ferdinand Lapuz for winning the Audience Choice Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
It is the first acting award for Paolo and he was present to personally accept his award. He was wearing a gown during the awards night.
If we are not mistaken, Paolo was already in Manila last week because he had to be in “Eat Bulaga” last Saturday. He was thinking of flying back to Japan to attend the awards night so he can personally accept his award in case he wins.
“Die Beautiful” is one of the favorites of the critics in the festival and is ranked among the top picks to win awards.
With the win, Direk Jun has added another feather to his cap. First he gave Eugene Domingo a Best Actress Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival two years ago. He duplicated it by giving a Best Actor win for Paolo in “Die Beautiful” for this year’s TIFF, as well as winning the Audience Choice Award.
Congratulations to everyone for the win. Thank you for bringing pride to our local film industry. We are proud of you.

Lauren Reid, the sister of “Till I Met You” star James Reid, is one of the endorsers of Fujifilm Photo Diary.
The Fujifilm Photo Diary is the answer to the growing demand for putting photos together into an album, properly selected and labeled, and accomplished in minutes. Developed through Fujifilm’s Image Organizing Technology, the Photo Diary enables you to make an original album out of a year’s worth of images or to simply mark a milestone or two.
Instead of choosing hundreds of photos manually, the Image Organizing Technology software will automatically select the best photos for you and arrange it in the best layout possible. Because of this, you can now create a ready-to-print layout in just five minutes. There are also several design templates and vibrant color schemes that users can choose from to make their photo-customizing experience stress-free.
At the launch of Photo Diary, Lauren shared her thoughts about photography. She says she has a lot of photos of her childhood and travels.
When asked what sort of photos she likes taking, she says it is landscapes and the people that she meets, and the people that she is travelling with. Of course, she also takes pictures of herself. Below are excerpts of our chat with Lauren:
Who’s got the better eye when it comes to pictures, James or you? “James is so creative. He teaches me how to use the camera and get the best angle. With me, when I see something that is beautiful then I like that.”
What photography tip can you give us?
“Find the right angle and use natural light. When it comes to editing, to be honest, I don’t do a lot of editing. If ever I do, it’s to brighten the photo or to make the colors more vibrant,” she said, adding that if she were to make a photo diary, she will be doing it with her whole family.
Are you also entering showbiz?
“Maybe. I’m taking it a day at a time. I am looking after my body and my health because it’s the vessel that will take me to the end. I just want to make sure that I am healthy and I’m able to tackle anything that comes my way.”
Lauren, who was born in the Philippines, arrived in the country about eight months ago. She just went overseas and when she came back, she decided to stay here indefinitely. She said she returned here primarily because of her father. She hasn’t spent time with him for about seven years and he’s pushing 80 years old so now she wants to spend more time with him.
The Photo Diary was officially launched last October 27, with celebrity mom Cheska Garcia-Kramer, and the Filipino-Australian model Lauren, whose superstar brother James is also a Fujifilm endorser.
Fujifilm is confident that Filipinos will take to the Photo Diary very well because the Philippines is a photo-loving nation, from mothers who cherish and preserve memorable family moments to young millennials who express their creativity with well-curated and stylized photos. The Photo Diary is the perfect tool to document life’s important milestones: weddings, birthdays, graduation and favorite travels.
The price of the Photo Diary starts at P999 for a minimum of 16 pages, up to P2,199 for a maximum of 40 pages. Available at the Wonder Photo Shop and Fujifilm authorized dealers, the Photo Diary is a fun, easy, and modern way of documenting photos and making them a lasting keepsake, handed down from generation to generation, and shared among family and friends.
