Back to basics in new album
CEBU, Philippines – Rico Blanco will give his fans a treat this November as he starts working on his upcoming album.
Rico renewed his contract with Universal Records, which has produced his albums “Your Universe” in 2008 and “Galactik Fiestamatik” in 2012.
“It’s an honor to be part of this very prestigious family, well-known for giving the Pinoy music fans quality music over the years. So being a part of it now is a great honor for me,” said Rico.
He will collaborate with different artists, namely Raymund Marasigan of Sandwich, Buddy Zabala of Eraserheads, Roll Martinez of Hale and bands The Dawn and Cambio.
“I’ll be leaving the ‘Fiestamatik’ sound and will go back to basics,” Rico said. “It’s gonna be that kind of album that’s fast.”
“I’m limiting myself to just a few musicians but these are the best musicians I know with few instruments as possible. Like back-to-basics album,” he added.
The new album will be released in November.
Rico was also happy about the outcome of his collaboration with band Parokya Ni Edgar for the song “Sing.”
“It turns out they had this song that they were working on,” he recalled.
“Tapos gusto nila ilagay ko yung inputs ko do‘n para maging totoong collaboration siya. Hindi siya yung parang featuring lang yung isang artist.” – Philstar News Service
