Megan Fox returns to TV

CEBU, Philippines – Megan Fox is making a comeback — the newly single actress not only recently returned to Instagram after splitting from husband Brian Austin Green, but Fox announced she’s joining the cast of “New Girl” as a recurring guest star.

“Hi. I’m still here, I just continue to have an angsty relationship with social media. But what better way to express my apprehension than with a selfie. This time in black n white!” the mom to Noah, 2, and Bodhi, 18 months, captioned a sultry photo of herself.

Fox, 29, will join the comedy series as “Raegan, a gorgeous, straight-shooting pharmaceutical sales rep who comes to town on business and shakes things up in the loft when she rents out Jess’ (Zooey Deschanel’s) room while she is sequestered on jury duty” in its upcoming fifth season, according to a network press release.

Deschanel recently gave birth to her first child, a daughter.

“It’s insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it,” executive producer Liz Meriwether jokingly said. “I’ve been a fan of her comedic skills since ‘This Is 40,’  and I’m so excited to have her on the show. We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part — she’s the perfect person to come in and shake these guys up.”

Speaking of shaking things up, the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” star filed for divorce from her husband of five years last month. “Things have been rocky,” one source said about the couple’s relationship, while another added that Fox is extremely “independent” and can go “weeks without talking to another human. She’s gone off and done her own thing recently.”
