Tackles historical roles

CEBU, Philippines - MTRCB Uncut relives the past in tomorrow’s episode, as it features historical period drama, a film genre that bases its stories on historical events and personas.

Join hosts Bobby Andrews and Jackie Aquino in an engaging “Prangkahan” with one of the country’s award-winning filmmakers, Enzo Williams. The young director talks about his 2014 film “Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo” that centers on the life of Katipunan revolutionary Andres Bonifacio.

Gracing the “Klik kay Juan at Juana” is celebrity guest John Arcilla. The multi-awarded actor channeled his inner hero with his portrayal of the country’s first Vice President Mariano Trias in “El Presidente” and the Filipino General Antonio Luna in “Heneral Luna.”

The episode also gives due recognition to modern day heroes such as janitors, security guards, taxi drivers, teachers, and parents, who, in their own simple ways, have done heroic acts and are worth emulating.

Meanwhile, MTRCB Chairperson Toto Villareal, in the segment “I-Share Mo Kay Chair,” answers questions posted in the agency’s Twitter and Gmail accounts. This week, he discusses the agency’s jurisdiction on films for special screenings and their process of conducting inspection in theaters.

All these and more in MTRCB Uncut this Sunday, 7 p.m. on Net 25.
