Claudine now civil with Raymart

CEBU, Philippines – Actress Claudine Baretto said she is civil with estranged husband Raymart Santiago. Reports that Claudine and Raymart are currently in good terms again after their on-and-off falling out surfaced after the two were seen together attending a fun run with their children, Sabina and Santino, earlier this month.

Claudine even posted a photo of Raymart on her Instagram account.

“We’re very civil. Yes, now we’re talking,” Claudine told ABS-CBN’s showbiz talk show “The Buzz” in an interview aired Sunday.

She added, when asked about the custody case Raymart filed against her: “Napag-usapan namin na sana let’s not talk about each other anymore, or let’s not accept questions regarding each other kung hindi maganda yung sasabihin natin.”

“We’re trying to be good parents for the kids,” Claudine also said. “We failed as husband and wife. We’re trying not to fail as parents now.”

Claudine said she is also civil with older sister Marjorie. It can be remembered that the two had a public falling out in 2013, after Marjorie and sister Gretchen supported Raymart’s allegations that Claudine is mentally ill and has a history of drug abuse.

But Claudine and Marjorie were seen reunited at the 18th birthday party of Julia Barretto, Marjorie’s daughter. This prompted speculations that the two have already patched things up.

“I don’t now kung saan kami ni Marjorie,” Claudine said. “Sa relationship namin ngayon, I think it’s safe to say we’re civil.”

Claudine narrated:  “Sa debut ni Julia, kinausap namin the other staff dun, na lalapit ako sa ate ko. Tinayming ko na nasa padulo na talaga. Nag-beso ako. Tapos sabi niya, ‘Thank you for coming. It means so much to Julia and to me.’”

“Then I said, thank you for inviting me. Kapag dumadaan siya sa likod ko (during the party), she’d ask me, ‘Did you eat na? What do you want to drink?’ Nakikita mo ulit yung pagka-ate niya, alam mo yun?” she further said.

“Pero parang natatakot ako mag-dive doon sa ano na yun, kasi baka mawala ulit,” Claudine said, although she added having breakfast with Marjorie the morning after Julia’s debut party.

As for a possible showbiz comeback, Claudine said she’s looking into doing a movie first, “to test the waters kung may market ka pa, di ba?” Her last movie was “In Your Eyes” in 2010, while her regular TV show was GMA-7’s “Iglot” in 2011. – PhilStar News Service
