Julia Barretto reunites with aunt Claudine at debut
CEBU, Philippines - Claudine attended Julia’s debut with parents Miguel and Inday. Before Julia’s party, Claudine posted on her Instagram account: “Happy, happy 18th birthday to you, Julia. [You were] about 7 or 8 years old when you asked me to have your hair dyed with red streaks! Ten years later, you are still the Julia whom I so love. May all great and wonderful things come to you as you turn 18 today. You have so many gifts to share with all of us who adore and love you. You are a blessing to all whose hearts you have touched! SHINE ANAK! @juliabarretto mama has your back You are a star. Go and conquer your dreams starting today.”
The debut also served as the reunion of Claudine and Julia’s mother Marjorie. According to reports, Marjorie said this is the first time she met Claudine after a long time.
Gretchen and daughter, Dominique Cojuangco, were invited to the debut but were not able to attend.
Claudine has been estranged from sisters Gretchen and Marjorie since 2013, after the two supported Raymart Santiago’s allegations that Claudine is mentally ill and has a history of drug abuse. The rift has divided the Barretto family, with parents Miguel and Inday siding with Claudine.
Lately, however, it was reported that Gretchen and Marjorie are currently not in good terms.
Julia’s father Dennis Padilla also attended the debut, following a reconciliation after a reported rift.
Wearing a red gown with sweetheart neckline and full skirt by Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco, the “Mirabella” star was escorted by teen actor Iñigo Pascual.
The Star Magic talent’s grand celebration had a silver, gray and white carnival-inspired theme.
Some of the stars who attended the glitzy affair include Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano, James Reid and Nadine Lustre, Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, Iza Calzado, Enchong Dee, Kim Chiu, Jane Oineza, Janella Salvador, Bela Padilla and the Gutierrez family including Ruffa, Raymond, Annabelle and Eddie. – PhilStar News Service
