QueenSize of Cebu 2014 showcases world festivals
CEBU, Philippines - Festivals of the World is the theme of this year’s edition of the QueenSize of Cebu. Fifteen gorgeous, sexy, beautiful, and talented plus-size transgenders vie for one of the five crowns: QueenSize Festival – World (winner); QueenSize Festival – Pacific Islands (first runner-up); QueenSize Festival – Caribbean Islands (second runner-up); QueenSize Festival – Mediterranean Islands (third runner-up); and QueenSize Festival – Arctic Islands (fourth runner-up). The grand coronation ceremony is slated on November 8 at the E-Mall Stage Theater.
Witness the grandiose festival costumes, unparalleled talents, and be amazed by the ladies’ intelligence in answering the final questions. The 15 crown contenders include Victoria (Ashenda Festival of Africa); Pia (Tango Festival of Buenos Aires, Argentina); France (Junkanoo Festival of the Bahamas); Eula (Maitisong Festival of Botswana); Blanch (Carnival of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil); Acea (Batabano Festival of the Cayman Islands); Bea (Lantern Festival of China); Mikay (La Vega Festival of Dominican Republic); Nikki (Opet Festival of Egypt); Jaya (Hinamatsuri Festival of Japan); Yuri (Aloha Festival of Hawaii); Carlee (Sinulog Festival of Cebu City, Philippines); Nestee (Carnaval de Ponce of Puerto Rico); Mikki (Mardi Gras of New Orleans, USA); and Cassandra (Feria del Sol Festival of Venezuela).
The candidates have gone through exciting pre-pageant activities such as talent and swimwear competitions. Held last September 13 at the Golden Peak Hotel Rooftop, the Top 5 Best in Talent who will perform in the grand finals are QueenSize Feria del Sol Venezuela Cassandra; QueenSize Maitisong Botswana Eula; QueenSize Aloha Hawaii Yuri; QueenSize Hinamatsuri Japan Jaya; and QueenSize Ashenda Africa Victoria. One of them will be declared the ultimate Best in Talent. The swimwear competition took place at the poolside of Villa Teresita Resort in Talisay City last October 4. QueenSize Junkanoo Bahamas France won Best in Swimsuit.
Touted as the other definition of beauty, QueenSize of Cebu does not promote obesity but supports self-acceptance despite their plus-size figure. The pageant helps obesely sexy transgenders make their dreams of becoming a beauty queen come true.
Aside from last year’s reigning queens, the QueenSize Divas, Power Trio, and Cebu’s Hot Men will also perform. The show will be directed by Cyrus Villasco and choreographed by Junmark Villegas.
