French outdoor cinema at the Ayala Terraces
CEBU, Philippines - Alliance Française de Cebu in collaboration with Institut Français and Ayala Center Cebu present Cinema en Plein air, or French outdoor cinema.
Four recent movies will be shown this May, bringing to Filipino viewers some of the best family films from France with English subtitles. Both parents and children of all ages will be able to enjoy two animation movies and two successful comedies:
The Painting (Le tableau)
Directed by Jean-François Laguionie
Genre: Animated film – G - 1 hour, 16 minutes
A chateau, flowering gardens, a threatening forest, here is what, for mysterious reasons, a Painter has left incomplete. But the painting’s peace is threatened as the entirely painted characters take over the Chateau and chase the others. To restore the harmony, Ramo, Lola and Plume decide to look for the painter. Throughout the adventure, questions will follow one after the other. Will they one day know the Painter’s secret?
The Dandelions

Day of the Crows (Le Jour des Corneilles)

Courge lives in the heart of the forest, raised by his father, a tyrannical giant who reigns triumphant and prevents his son from exploring beyond limited boundaries. That is until the day that he is forced to go to the nearest village, where he meets young Manon.

Will she flee and try to change the course of their lives? Will she fall in love with him again, even though she knows how their story will end?
Cinema en Plein Air will be held every Saturday of May, 6 p.m. at the Ayala Center Terraces. First showing will be this Saturday, May 3. Admission is free.
