Meet the new MYX VJs

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - An intense series of challenges recently came to a close among 12 hopeful finalists who made it through the MYX VJ Search this year.

At the MYX VJ Search 2014 Finals, MYX finally declared that three of these 12 would become the music channel’s newest VJs, namely Luigi D’Avola, Gianna Llanes, and Vieo Lopez.

After the announcement of the search’s winners by MYX Channel Head Andre Alvarez, VJs Luigi, Gianna, and Vieo are now the newest members of the MYX family and are currently gearing up to take on their newest adventure.

VJ Luigi, in tears when his name was announced, is also a singer and songwriter who was a nominee at the MYX Music Awards earlier this year for the Favorite New Artist and Favorite Mellow Music Video categories.

VJ Gianna was a former radio DJ and is an A.B. Communications student at the Ateneo de Manila University. Ecstatic and surprised at the announcement, she described how things went right before the finals took place. “I even cried when I had to talk to Sir Andre alone. But I need to say thank you to everyone that supported me—it always brightened up my day,” she said.

For VJ Vieo, the announcement of his name proved the 23-year old’s determination during the competition, as this had been his third time to audition for the MYX VJ Search. Grateful, he expressed, “I think the best thing that I can say is that, if you wanted something, you go get it. No matter how many times you fail, keep trying, keep doing it, go get it.” (PR)
