Pinay places third runner-up in Miss Intercontinental
CEBU, Philippines - Koreen Medina was declared third runner-up in the Miss Intercontinental 2013 pageant held in Magdeburg, Germany on Saturday night, Dec. 14. The 18-year-old from Quezon City became the country’s official delegate in the Panama-based pageant after winning the Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International 2013 crown.
Before winning, the five-foot-six Mass Communication Freshman of St. Paul University was a “Pilipinas Got Talent†Season 2 contestant, the grand prize winner in the Coca-Cola Music Talent Search Finals in 2011, and the Grand Winner of “My Girl,†a pageant-like search on ABS-CBN. Aside from her third runner-up finish, Medina was also chosen as Miss Intercontinental Queen of Asia and Oceania. She competed against 58 other candidates.
Fourth runner-up was the candidate from South Africa, second runner-up from Colombia, first runner-up from Puerto Rico and the winner was Ekaterina Plekhova of Russia. (FREEMAN)
