Maja Salavador joins Jinggoy Estrada's comeback movie "Tatay"
Award-winning actress Maja Salvador is one of the lead stars in Senator Jinggoy Estrada's comeback movie titled "Tatay" which is being directed by Joey Javier Reyes.
She finds it a wonderful but scary experience to work with the actor-turned-senator. She is overwhelmed doing scenes with Jinggoy. "Sometimes I just feel so overwhelmed by his presence," Maja told the press who visited the location set of their movie last Tuesday."But we have fun shooting kasi we find ourselves laughing kasi mahilig magbiro si Sen. Jinggoy. Masaya kami kasi marami siyang baon na mga jokes."
In the movie which is a family drama, Maja plays the role of Monette. "We and Sen. Jinggoy seem to always fight like cats and dogs. We thought we could no longer mend our differences. We seem to be always at odds but in the end nagkasundo rin kami," Maja talks about her role in the movie written by Direk Joey Reyes himself.
The movie marks Sen. Jinggoy's comeback after three year's absence on the movie scene. The good senator admits he was kind of rusty on the first day of shoot and he was kind of groping for form. It took him quite a few hours to find his bearing and relaxed with his acting.
"Medyo asiwa nga ako sa umpisa," said Senator Jinggoy. "Nanibago ako, pati sa aking hairdo." Jinggoy's hair was brushed up and he looks like he is sporting the hairstyle of a bagets (teenager). "I didn't know I had this kind of hairstyle in the movie but don't worry, I won't wear this (style) to the Senate." The movie titled "Tatay" has a family-oriented story. "I play a father to a teenager. I thought she was listening to my advice to take care of herself but she fell in love and has a boyfriend. For sure a lot of fathers could identify or relate to our movie's story, pati na rin ang mga bata."
As a father, how does he take care of his children? "Minsan hindi ko na rin sila makontrol. Like kung nagkayayaan silang magkakaibigan, minsan umaga na rin nakakauwi. Sometimes I am dismayed kasi sana when I come home from work, nasa bahay na rin sila. Pero iba na ang panahon ngayon. But they should always maintain respect to their elders. Dapat ang mga anak, by all means, should treat their parents with respect. If you don't respect your parents it runs counter to the trait of Pinoys to be respectful. "
"I have respect for children who know how to respect their parents," added Senator Jinggoy whose son Jolo is also one of the stars of "Tatay." The movie will be shown sometime in September.

Kapuso drama actor Alden Richards couldn't believe when he was told that Universal Records is interested to give him an album. Never in his wildest dreams did Alden imagine that there would come the day that he will be offered to record an album.
"I was shocked," said Alden when he learned of the good news. "I know that I carry a tune but I did not imagine that a record deal would come my way. Universal Records is one of the biggest record labels in the country and it's a big honor to be given a break to do a recording with them."
Alden's self-titled album is a CD lite containing seven cuts, made up six revivals and one original cut titled 'Sa Aking Tabi,' which was a composition of Vince Katindoy (who also penned the hit single Ngiti). The carrier single is a revival titled 'Haplos,' which was popularized by Shamrock. To prepare himself for this once-in-a lifetime opportunity, Alden underwent vocal trainig under Kitchie Molina.
Alden likewise announced that on Sunday, June 16, he is joining the cast of Sunday All Stars and that the airing of Mundo Mo'y Akin has been extended.
He was overwhelmed by the response of the public during his album debut launch at Trinoma Mall. He did not expect a good crowd and those who availed copies of the album had a chance to pose for pictures with him.
'Haplos' which ranks number one in MyMusicstores was used as a love theme of Mundo Mo'y Akin, the primetime series which topbills Alden and favorite loveteam Louise delos Reyes.
