Ginuman Fest rocks Cebu
CEBU, Philippines - Bands, booze, and two smoking hot calendar girls officially opened the summer season in the Queen City of the South through Ginebra San Miguel’s (GSM) “Ginuman Fest†concert held March 1 at the Cebu Coliseum.
This was the concert’s second year, and Cebu was the fifth stop in a 15-leg nationwide tour which opened in Tarlac City last January.
Music lovers enjoyed performances from GSM endorsers The Itchyworms, Rocksteddy, Kenyo, dance sensation Jhong Hilario, Ginebra 2013 calendar girl Georgina Wilson and 2012 calendar girl Solenn Heussaff. Georgina, a Filipino-British model, was officially launched as Ginebra’s newest gorgeous face late last year, following the footsteps of her celebrity best friends Solenn and Anne Curtis who are also endorsers of the company.
Other celebrity ambassadors including Anne, Dingdong Dantes, Maja Salvador and Paulo Avelino will be gracing the “Ginuman Fest†events in other provinces.
At the jam-packed concert venue, Cebuanos got the chance to win raffle prizes amounting to P100,000 and were also able to sample GSM liquor products such as Gran Matador Brandy, Antonov Vodka, Premium Gin, GSM Blue and non-alcoholic Magnolia beverages.
Before Georgina, Solenn and the three bands headed to the Cebu Coliseum, they first visited GSM’s plant in Subangdaku, Mandaue City, where a special meet-and-greet with thrilled GSM employees was scheduled. After the photo opportunities, Solenn signed and gave away copies of her debut album while her pal Georgina did the same with her sizzling 2013 GSM calendar.
“Ginuman Fest†will be held next in Antipolo (March 9); Pampanga (March 16); Santiago, Isabela (March 22); Kalibo, Aklan (April 12); Dasmariñas, Cavite (April 19); Lipa, Batangas (April 26); Solano, Nueva Vizcaya (May 17); Lucena, Quezon (May 24); Naga, Camarines Sur (May 31), and conclude in Metro Manila (June 8).
Watch out for a grander event next year, since GSM (introduced in 1834) will be celebrating its 180th anniversary in 2014.
