We had the chance to watch Christian Bautista’s tenth anniversary concert titled X Class at the Meralco Theater last Sunday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We can say that is one of the best shows we’ve seen this year. It also features Christian in a different light as a singer.
Christian proved himself to be more than just a balladeer as some number had him doing rock songs. And yes, he did the Gangnam Style dance craze to the delight of the audience. He also did number ala Boyband together with his brother Jordan Bautista, Kitchen Musical co-star Ike Canoy and former Akafella member Myke Salomon.
Easily the most applauded part of his repertoire was the medley of Jose Mari Chan’s hits. Incidentally, the famed singer-composer was in the audience and Christian went to him before the segment was over. Christian belted out Beautiful Girl, Tell Me Your Name, Constant Change, Deep in My Heart and Refrain.
Another well-applauded part was Could This Be Magic?, which had characters in interesting costumes parading onstage, with aerial acts adding to the fantasy mode.
He also did a little drama sequence with popular cosplayer Alodia Gosengfiao, as he sang Josh Groban’s Broken Vow, with a beautiful moon in the backdrop. The concert ended with Christian singing his biggest hit The Way You Look At Me. The audience gave him a standing ovation twice.
Last Sunday seemed to be a celebrity event as a good number of stars came to watch. Among those we saw were Maja Salvador, Robi Domingo, Mark Bautista and Gwendolyn Ruais, director Mark Reyes, Universal Records executive Ramon Chuaying, Janice de Belen, Mitch Valdez, Jon Santos, Karylle and bf Yael, Jay R, and the vocal group The Company.
Christian is doing more shows this weekend so do catch it.

Sarah Geronimo, the new endorser of Cherry Mobile phones, admits she is no longer active in Twitter as she used to. She has closed her account because she got affected by the negative comments which she received.
“I am sure that all of you were aware that I used to have a Twitter account but I stopped using it since I am quite a sensitive person and I get affected by negative comments,” said Sarah at the press launch of Cherry Mobile last Tuesday held at Dolce Latte at Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
But Viva, which manages her career, maintains an official fan page and Sarah says her fans could communicate with her thru that fan page account.
On the same breath, Sarah defended her mom Divine from accusations that she asked that her daughter’s stylist and makeup artist be fired. ‘That isn’t true. I owe my stylist and makeup artist a debt of gratitude. There was just a miscommunication,” she added.
She also denied that her mom doesn’t allow her to use her cell phone.
“I am the one who holds my cellphone. I only ask my mom to hold it for me when I have my hands full,” said Sarah.
The Pop Star was elated to be the newest endorser of Cherry Mobile. “The phone is Philippine made and we should be proud that we are at par with international brands,” said Sarah. “Hindi naman tayo nagpapahuli when it comes to technology. They also have an Android phone.”

When he comes to the province to reconcile with his estranged girlfriend Sonia (Lovi Poe), who is heavy with their firstborn, Dingdong’s character must device a way to keep his loved ones safe and alive from an army of aswangs. “It is such an ambitious project and I am happy that I accepted it,” shares Lovi.
