"I slammed the haters and the bashers... not the voters"
Martin Nievera explains his side of the ‘shame on you’ issue
We received a message from Martin Nievera regarding our column item on The X Factor and Kebedon Colim of Cebu which came out on Wednesday. In our column, we wrote that Martin slammed the haters and bashers of Kebedon and said “Shame on you.”
Here’s Martin’s message “If you watch the episode again, all I said, exactly said was, “to all bashers and haters, shame on you.” I said nothing about voters because bashers and haters, I am assuming, don’t vote for those they hate and bash.”
“Just wanted to tell you the facts behind my misinterpreted comment. Thanks for the time.”
When I saw Martin’s message in my email, responded and asked if I could print his message, in the spirit of fair play and this was his response: “Yes my friend. I read your article on me slamming the X Factor audience. I wanted to know if you actually saw me slam them or did you just hear about it?
“You see Ricky, I didn’t slam the audience. I slammed the haters and the bashers online who I have zero respect for. Anyone who hates or bashes would upset anyone being hated and bashed. What more a small young kid who’s only crime was chasing his dreams. (Kedebon)
“Wala lang. I just feel you got your details wrong. I did not slam the voters who didn’t vote for one of mine. I was slamming the haters on FB, Twitter, etc. Not the voters or televiewers.
“Hope this is clear now. The only ones who should be upset are the bashers and haters who usually don’t want to be known anyway, but definitely not the TV audience.
“It would be nice if it could be cleared up that I was not smashing people for putting Kedebon on the bottom 2. No. I was not, cause I know that is the way XF is played. Pag-elimination Sunday we become judges and have to put away our mentoring love. When I said what I did it was directed to the ones who hate and bash on all the social networks for no other reason but to hurt and destroy. We can not please everybody, but stop the hate! Thank you Ricky.”
Thanks Martin for taking time to read our column and for explaining your side on the issue. We must have been given the wrong info by our source and we stand corrected. Thank you for giving us your side so that we could share it to our readers.
