CEBU, Philippines - She created one of the best-selling albums of all time and has spent the past year being showered with awards and glory.
And at the tender age of 23, superstar Adele has now seen her fortune swell to £20million – increasing by £14million in just 12 months.
The London-born singer has topped the Sunday Times Rich List of young British musicians following the success of her second album, 21, with its chart-topping tales of heartbreak and woe.
Last April, Adele’s fortune was estimated at £6million but that has more than tripled following the success of 21, which has sold more than 20million copies worldwide.
She is not the only young female singer to make millions. Her former schoolmate Jessie J makes her way on to the list, limited to those aged 30 and under, for the first time with a fortune of £5million.
The 24-year-old went to the BRIT School in Croydon with Adele and X Factor winner Leona Lewis, whose fortune is valued at £12million.
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, 22, has been named the richest young British actor, with a fortune of £54million, up by £6million on a year ago.
Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson, 25, has £40million, up from £32million last year. Keira Knightley, 27, has an estimated £30million, the same as last year.
