Baby not in Robin's agenda right now

CEBU, Philippines - Robin Padilla is in no hurry to have a baby with Mariel Rodriguez. The action star explained that he already has six children – four with Liezl Sicangco, a son with Jobelle Salvador and a daughter with Leah Orosa.

Robin said he knows that once Mariel has a baby, her life will be devoted to looking after it. "At my age, I should be her only baby," he said jokingly.

Katrina Halili will name her baby Kristina or Katarence if it’s a girl and Lyric if it’s a boy.

Katarence is a curious derivation from Katrina and Lawrence. Lawrence of course Kris Lawrence, the baby’s father.

Why not name the baby Katris instead? Just a thought.

Katrina and Kris have no plans of marrying just yet. They agreed that they should not be pressured into settling down just because of the baby.

Kris also has no objection to Katrina’s wish to spend a few months in Palawan after she gives birth, although he prefers to have mother and child stay in Manila so he can be with them.

Jessica Sanchez gave a subdued but soulful rendition of Beyonce’s Sweet Dreams to advance to the Final Eight of American Idol. Judge Steven Tyler called the 16-year-old Fil-Mexican’s performance "delicious."

Voted out was the New Yorker of Korean descent, Heejun Han. The judges decided not to exercise their prerogative to save him from elimination. But Heejun says he’s not taking it against them. "It was way too early to use their card. I'm pretty sure they're saving it for some other people. It was fair and square," he said.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for Angel Locsin to guest in Luis Manzano’s Deal Or No Deal.

Luis says it’s not that he’s against his ex-girl appearing in the game show. "I just want to protect the show because I’m pretty sure issues will crop up."

Despite living in the same compound with Angel, Luis says it’s been almost a year since they last saw each other.

Luis and Angel broke up more than two years ago and Angel is widely believed to be the girlfriend of Azkals player Phil Younghusband (the two haven’t officially confirmed that they’re on). Luis meanwhile seems pretty happy with his present girl Jennylyn Mercado.

Incidentally, Luis now has his own house built in a property in an exclusive Quezon City subdivision that was handed down to him by his mom, Batangas Governor Vilma Santos. Luis tore down the old house and had a new one built using his own money.

Luis also has other business, including a partnership in a taxi company.

He hasn’t made up his mind whether to go into politics because his tight showbiz schedule prevents him from giving public service his 100 percent attention.

"If I decide to run with this schedule, I can only give half an effort, but I don’t want to be unfair to the people I will serve," Luis said. Politics "is not a TV show where if you don’t give it your all its ratings will fall. If you don’t give it your all in politics, someone’s gonna get hungry."
