Lance Raymundo resumes recording after "Fatanas" hit

If you think you have seen the last of the horror franchise “Shake, Rattle & Roll” (which had its 13th edition last year), well brace yourselves for its comeback for the nth time.

We heard that Regal Films producer Lily Monteverde is fielding another SRR movie in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival but this time with a new twist – instead of three directors doing one episode each, we heard that Mother Lily is tapping Direk Chito Roño to handle the next SRR film sequel.

All three episodes will be handled by Direk Chito, who gave us such horror classics like Feng Shui, Sukob and Spirit Warriors (the latter even bagging a best picture award at the Metro Manila Film Festival).

Last year, direk Chito handled the movie “Bulong” which starred Vhong Navarro and Angelica Panganiban.

Singer cum model Lance Raymundo is resuming his recording contract with Viva Records. He is coming out with a new album to be released sometime in June. The album contains 12 cuts, all composed by Lance, including two Tagalog songs. It’s supposed to be an all English club album but with the success of his single “Fatanas” which he released last November, Lance was inspired to include another Tagalog song in the album.

“Fatanas” was an indie effort. It was not pushed by any major label but the song enabled Lance to penetrate the mainstream and was even played in several radio stations. The success of “Fatanas” gave Lance to guest in TV shows in both ABS-CBN 2 and GMA 7.

The song made it to the play list of several radio stations even without a push by a major label.

Lance is thinking though of adding more Tagalog songs in his new album, adding he might translate some of the English songs he now has into Tagalog, owing to the success of “Fatanas.”

“We are still deciding what is best but if there are English songs we might be better off in Tagalog baka I might decide to translate them before adding them to the album. There might be some changes along the way before we release the album,” said Lance who appeared in the indie film “Ang Paglilitis kay Bonifacio” two years ago.

He is planning to release the album in time for his birthday in June. Meanwhile, Viva Records has started booking him for shows and appearances. He taped a TV special for “Fatanas” and Wolf sound. On the 17th of March, he has a show with fellow Viva artists on Isetann Recto.

Lance, who started his career as a ramp model ten years ago, with the likes of Randy Ortiz, Gerry Katigbak, is having a reunion with his mentors in the modeling world by appearing as a guest model in a fashion show being put up by his mentors. After ten years of being away from the fashion scene, he is renewing his ties with his mentors in the fashion world.

“It’s fun to go back to my roots. Of course, artista na ako and singer pero it’s fun to go back to something where I started. I am preparing for the event by working out religiously to keep me fit. I hope alam ko how to walk down the ramp,” he said with a laugh. “It’s exciting to go back. When I started out as a model, parang I’d want to cross over sa singing but now that I am already a singer, as I get older, I get to appreciate the things I did before kaya I kind of missed my days as a model.”

But he’s looking forward to doing another indie film. It’s been quite a while since he did one. On the side, Lance is doing endorsements for some companies. He’s promoting a new product called Oil-Live. It’s a new health product made from pure Olive Oil but it is now in capsule form. “I have done a pictorial for it and I think my photo will be appearing in the boxes and in the leaflet of the product. I’ve tried it since January. Aside from drinking it, you may also open the capsule and use the contents in your hair and in your face. It really works well. Joining me in the campaign is celebrity stylist Anna Araneta,” he related.
