-

CEBU, Philippines - Mr. Julfekar Ahmad Shah, Managing Director of MilleniumArt Sdn Bhd, has been actively involved in the production of songs and album for famous recording artists in Malaysia. His label serves as a distributor of songs online, in handling promotional activities through radio, television, print, electronic media and live events. He also engages in artist management and collaborations.

Throughout the years, Julfekar gained success in the Malaysian music scene by writing and producing songs of various genres for several topnotch Malaysian artists like Siti Nurhaliza and Francesca Peter, to name a few. He also composes movie soundtracks and soap opera or “telenovela” theme songs.

On December 7, 2011, he signed a memorandum of understanding with Dream Music Sdn Bhd, another Malaysian recording company which mainly focuses on downloading and marketing. The said label is headed by Datuk Haji Mohd Fauzi Zakaria. Together they formed the Dream Music - Millenium Art Label which aims to expand and broaden the scope of music not only in Malaysia but also in the international music scene, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.

The said merger is now taking it to a higher level and has started to promote talents from neighboring countries like Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore and Timor-Leste. His next target - the Philippines.

Julfekar aims to collaborate with homegrown OPM talents like Nikki Bacolod and upcoming teen singers Hai Zel and Grendel Ramos. He also plans to have Pinoy rock band Frio join his squad. A few days ago, he saw matinee idol and telenovela soundtrack singer Bryan Termulo in ABS-CBN’s “Budoy Farewell Mall show” at the SM North Skydome.

Julfekar himself will compose all the songs to be recorded and they will be rendered in both Bahasa, Malaysia ang Filipino languages. The resulting collaboration will feature Filipino talents showcased in one album and it will be distributed in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Timor-Leste and the Philippines itself.

He plans to introduce these Filipino talents alongside artists from other countries to the rest of Southeast Asia and promote them regionally through collaborations and extensive marketing campaign.

Although Malaysian by citizenship, Julfekar was born a Sabah Tausug, known as “Suluk” in Malaysian terminology, which is then closely related to Tausug Filipinos in Southern Philippines. He then settled in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in his early years and has built a successful musical production career which is expanding internationally.
