Erich Gonzales plays title role in horror-love story movie

CEBU, Philippines - This March, Skylight Films, Reality Entertainment with Star Cinema proudly brings to the big screen "Corazon Ang Unang Aswang", the newest horror-love story to be released by Star Cinema. "Corazon Ang Unang Aswang" features the first team-up of Erich Gonzales and Derek Ramsay. This is also the first time that Erich will play a movie title role. A very timely and fitting career turn after the successes of all her past teleseryes most recent of which is the hugely successful "Maria la del Barrio". Derek on the other hand gets a second time to play the male lead after the phenomenal "No Other Woman".

"Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang" is a story of a childless couple and how this concern brought the wife to means and ways to bear a child. Until fate took an unexpected turn that made the wife her husband’s worst and horrific nightmare!

First time movie director Richard Somes, a noted former Production Designer, says of his film, "It’s a story about undying love. ‘Yun ang theme. And it’s set during the Japanese time na era kung saan maraming traumatic experiences ang Pilipinas. ‘Yun ang naging choice ko to be the backdrop for 'Corazon…'. The couple was advised by a stranger to go to this woman 'na makakatulong daw sa kanila' in the form of a miracle, not of medical or spiritual practice, but a miracle! They needed to worship sa isang santo, patron saint of fertility. Nag-worship dun ‘yung character ni Erich and then pagbuntis n’ya, pag-gising n’ya, that’s when all the ordeal and troubles and nightmare started.

"At this day and age, many of us would surely refuse to believe in 'aswangs' but there lies the honesty of 'Corazon', the honesty to acknowledge that these folkloric tales are undeniably a part of our Pinoy culture, whether you’re a believer or not."

"Corazon Ang Unang Aswang" also stars Mark Gil, Tetchie Agbayani, Epi Quizon, Mon Confiado, Sue Prado, Sharlene San Pedro, Bodjie Pascual and Maria Isabel Lopez.
