Maja Salvador: "I love Matteo"

- Ricky L. Calderon -

Love is indeed in the air when Maja Salvador and Matteo Guidicelli, the lead stars of the new Star Cinema offering My Cactus Heart directed by Enrico Santos, met the press last Saturday.

Maja even told the press people that it’s pretty obvious in her aura that she’s very much in love with Matteo. For his part, Matteo says he feels the same way.

"Hindi lang masyadong sanay i-express in words how much I love Matteo. Pero hindi lang naman dapat sa salita ipinaparamdam kung gaano kamahal ang isang tao kundi pati rin sa iyong mga kilos," said the lead actress of My Cactus Heart.

Matteo, on the other hand, says he feels how much Maja loves him without her having to say anything and vice versa. "I know how much Maja really loves me," said the good-looking former racing car champion.

In My Cactus Heart, Maja plays a character who always dumps her suitors. "If I feel the guy is already about to fall in love with me, I immediately dump him. I am afraid to fall in love and get hurt in the process," says the actress.

"I have a boyfriend in the movie but there were instances that we’d always fight that’s why we parted ways. But something happened to my family that made me feel afraid to fall in love."

But she changes her mind when she met the character played by Matteo but Maja tries hard to conceal her true feelings even if the guy loves her.

My Cactus Heart, which also stars Xian Lim, is set to open nationwide on January 25.

After working together in the mini-series "Sa Ngalan ng Ina" aired on TV5 last year, Drama King Christopher de Leon and Cinemalaya Best Actor Edgar Allan Guzman teams up in a special episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya" this Saturday, January 21, to be aired on ABS-CBN. Also featured in the episode is Boyet’s wife, Ms. Sandy Andolong.

"It’s a big honor for me to work with the much-admired actor Sir Boyet de Leon. Please watch out for our confrontation scenes. I play the rebellious son in this episode" said Edgar. "I feel lucky because after working with Ms. Nora Aunor in a mini-series and with Ate Uge (Eugene Domingo) in Shake Rattle and Roll 13, I get the chance to work with Sir Boyet and Ms. Sandy."

Edgar is also doing for Star Cinema the movie "Unofficially Yours" where he gets to co-star with another acting idol John Lloyd Cruz and Ms. Angel Locsin. The movie is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina."

Considered as one of the frontrunners as best actor for the movie "Ligo na U, Lapit na Me" in the coming awards season, Edgar is also in the cast of the TV5 series "Nandito Ako" featuring David Archuleta.

Before the year is over, he’s going to do the sequel of his award winning role based on the novel written by Eros Atalia titled "It's Not That Complicated" (Bakit Hindi Pa Sasakupin Ng Mga Alien Ang Daigdig sa 2012).

We hope that Edgar continues to work well and be dedicated to his craft so that his acting career would continue to flourish. All he needs is focus and the right priority to succeed and be recognized as a good actor and performer of his generation.
