Heather Locklear rushed to hospital after taking drugs, alcohol

-

CEBU, Philippines - Heather Locklear was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after taking a combination of prescription drugs and alcohol, according to reports.

The Dynasty star’s sister called 911 yesterday to report the ‘medical emergency’, TMZ reported.

She is understood to have taken Xanax, a drug used to treat anxiety and panic disorders.

The 50-year-old actress was examined by paramedics when they arrived and decided she needed to be hospitalized.

She is currently being treated and is recovering in the Los Robles Hospital and Medical Centre in California.

According to a hospital spokesperson, Heather was 'awake and responsive' upon her arrival.

Her parents, who are also by her side in the medical facility, have released a statement through the hospital.

“She is in no danger and she's going to be just fine,” Bill and Diane Locklear said.

The former Melrose Place star is expected to be released tomorrow.

Locklear has been hospitalized several times over the years. In 2009, she pleaded no contest to reckless driving after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication.

Locklear is said to be struggling in the wake of her split from fellow former Melrose Place star Jack Wagner. “She is distraught over her relationship with Jack, it is on and off and it has upset her lately,” the source said.

The pair announced their split on November 15, just three months after the pair got engaged.

She was previously married to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, and they have a daughter together.
