The supposed transfer to another network by Iza Calzado was one of the questions asked of her by TV Patrol reporter Mario Dumaual when asked of her plans during the presscon of "Panday 2" where Iza plays Maria Makiling.
Iza says she wants 2011 to end as it brings sad memories – her dad Lito Calzado died and she broke up with longtime boyfriend Atticus King.
But as she closes this chapter in her life, she will first give her dad a tribute via a special number that she will do at the Metro Manila Film Festival Awards night where her dad will be given a Special Posthumous Award since MMFF comes, Direk Lito is involved in organizing the parade and the yearly awards night.
"'Dance with My Father' is the name of the piece and this surely would be much-awaited since Iza fits the production number to a T," says Iza’s manager Noel Ferrer.
He said there won’t be a problem with GMA 7 (even if Iza’s contract with the Kapuso network has expired) since out of courtesy, they sought permission from the network bosses. Besides, the number is a tribute to her dad (who is loved by many in the industry) so it’s a form of goodwill on the part of GMA to allow Iza to perform.
Iza is still very much a part of the top-rating "Eat Bulaga" and "Showbiz Exclusives" and when we asked her manager what could we expect from Iza in 2012, Noel said that the actress is set to start a new film project for Star Cinema with John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo, and breakthrough Cinemalaya movie to be directed by Jose Javier Reyes with Judy Ann Santos as co-star titled "Mga Mumunting Lihim."
Being planned in GMA is a project that will put Iza and Richard Gutierrez together for the first time on TV (if it happens) and a follow up movie to their first-team up "Sigaw" which gave Iza an Urian Award and international recognition as well.
"Iza will be celebrating her 10th Anniversary in showbiz so brace yourselves for major, major projects and major, major reinvention and changes," says Noel in parting.
But the question hangs – is Iza changing network affiliations come 2012? This is what we’d like to find out.

Despite his busy schedule this Christmas season, indie prince and Cinemalaya best actor winner Edgar Allan Guzman still found the time to do a special "Maalaala Mo Kaya" episode with drama king Christopher de Leon and his wife Sandy Andolong as co-stars.
Of course, Edgar is busy promoting the movie "Shake, Rattle and Roll 13" where he co-stars with fellow Cinemalaya winner Eugene Domingo in the episode titled "Rain, Rain Go Away."
He’s also doing the movie "What Matters Most" under Star Cinema with John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin in the lead roles, with box-office director Cathy Garcia Molina at the helm..
Year 2011 is indeed Edgar Allan’s year. The turning point in his showbiz career came via the Cinemalaya hit movie "Ligo Na U, Lapit Na Me" which will have a sequel next year based on the next novel of Eros Atalia with the tentative title "It’s Not That Complicated" (Bakit Hindi Pa Sasakupin Ng Mga Alien Ang Daigdig sa 2012)."
He was signed up by Regal Entertainment and he got this "Shake, Rattle and Roll 13" assignment. He was also given a good role in the mini-series "Sa Ngalan ng Ina" with no less than Superstar Ms. Nora Aunor as his mother in the series. TV5 has likewise been very supportive as Edgar is also a mainstay of ‘Hey, It’s Saberdey" and "Lokomoko" and they have portrayed his life story in "Star Confessions" and had significant guest stints in "Regal Shockers."
He was also recently signed by Bench as one of its new endorsers, as well as a new chain of Feng Shiu stores. He was so lucky in 2011 and he hopes 2012 would likewise be as lucky.
Before the year ends, Edgar Allan hopes to transfer to a new house for his mom’s birthday. New year, new house and a new start after that rumor that Edgar Allan left his family because of his girlfriend.
He had also patched up his differences with his manager Noel Ferrer and Edgar Allan promised he’d be more focused in his career and would be more responsible and no more take into lying when found out he did something not good.
But come Christmas eve, Edgar Allan is excited to join the filmfest parade and ride the float of "Shake, Rattle and Roll 13," one of his favorite horror movies.
