Aga returns to TV as host of Pinoy Explorer

Miss Philippines Universe Shamcey Supsup may have only placed third runner-up in the Miss Universe contest won by Miss Angola but to the hearts of many Filipinos, she's a real winner and it makes our country proud. She did very well in the contest and we feel that her answer to the final question was very good.

Many Pinoys believe she should have gotten a better ranking, not just third-runner-up but Shamcey did us all proud. At least, she finished a rank higher than Venus Raj who placed fourth runner-up last year.

It's heartening to note that even esteemed TV host Ms. Oprah Winfrey expressed reservations about the result of the Miss Universe pageant and commented that the candidate from the Philippines should have won. That comment should warm the hearts of the Pinoys who love beauty contests as much as they love basketball and Manny Pacquiao.

We also felt that Shamcey should have placed first runner-up but placing third runner-up is not bad either. She did the country proud.

The grand launch of Pinoy Explorer, the biggest edutainment program on Philippine television hosted by Aga Muhlach, happened the other night at SM Megamall of Asia. The said launch was held at the SM Mall of Asia’s Nido Science Discovery Center. It even had a live streaming via www.interaksyon.com/pinoy-explorer-press-launch.

Everyone is excited about Aga's returns as a TV host of Pinoy Explorer, that is airing every Sunday and will be shown every Sunday beginning on Sept. 18 This is Aga's first hosting job and his first on TV 5.

"Ive been travelling the past years but this travel was different because I am doing this for the show. I felt as if I was the only one there. The program won't push through if I am not there. If I don't wake up, I don't show up, there won't be a show. But if I come on time and I show then we can go on with the program," said Aga at the presscon held on Monday.

Aga said that most of the time, during their trip, he would wake up ahead of the crew members and they would see him already waiting at the hotel lobby, ready for the grind.

"It was a fun trip. Even now, hindi pa rin mawala ang hang-over ko sa saya ng trip namin," said the award-winning actor. "This is the first time that I am having this kind of a high on a show. And even if we are just about to air, we are already planning for our next trip by the first week or second week of October. There are plans to leave again by November to tape more episodes for airing by February or March."

Thru Pinoy Explorer, thru Aga's series of adventures, we'll explore the many great wonders of the world.

Regal Entertainment's latest offering titled My Neighbor's Wife had a successful and star-studded premiere held Sunday at SM Megamall Cinema 9.

Of course, the main stars of the movie namely Dennis Trillo, Lovi Poe, Jake Cuenca and Carla Abellana were present plus their director Jun Lana and movie producer Miss Lily Monteverde, who was very pleased with the reaction of the crowd to the movie.

Among the personalities who graced the premiere were Direk Joel Lamangan, German Moreno, Raymond Gutierrez, Annabelle Rama, Geoff Taylor, Rommel Padilla, Mac Alejandre, Deo Endrinal, Edgar Allan Guzman, Noel Ferrer, Direk Erick Salud, and Eat Bulaga! executive Ms. Malou Choa Fagar.

The fans of Lovi, Dennis, Carla and Jake were in full force and would break into cheers from time to time during the screening.

Jake's butt exposure drew a wild cheer from the fans who filled up SM Megamall's Cinema 4. The fans also reacted to the steamy love scenes of the four lead stars.

In fairness, Lovi, Carla, Jake and Dennis did very well in their acting, with Jake getting special mention from us for his fine performance.

This is probably the best work of Direk Jun Lana, who also wrote the script.

The indie film Ligo na U, Lapit na Me, is the next offering of Regal Entertainment and will be shown on September 28.

We had the chance to talk to Edgar Allan Guzman, the lead actor of Ligo Na U, Lapit na Me, who expressed excitement with the forthcoming release of his solo movie. He's very thankful for the trust given him by Mother Lily who signed him up as a Regal baby and is releasing Ligo Na U, Lapit na Me on theaters on the 28th of this month.

Edgar is supposed to join the Cosmo Bachelor Bash on Thursday but he opted to join the benefit show for his friend Joseph Bitangcol that is happening on the same night."I want to support my friend, " says Edgar.

He is hoping that those who love movies would take time out to watch Ligo na U, Lapit na Me on September 28.
