Brad Pitt Rescues Woman from being trampled on set

-

CEBU, Philippines - Brad Pitt is a real-life hero.

The actor, currently shooting the big-screen adaptation of Max Brooks' zombie apocalypse book World War Z, saved a woman from being trampled during a scene being shot on Thursday night in Scotland.

Pitt was in the middle of shooting a scene in which a mass of people run through Glasgow's George Square in an attempt to get away from the incoming zombies. One woman, in one of the masses, fell over and was close to being trampled on before Pitt rushed over, carrying her out of danger.

Due to Pitt's quick thinking, a serious injury was avoided on the movie set, but after the actor brought the woman to safety, it was back to the grind.

"It was total chaos as 700 extras were trying to get down the street – they were banging into moving cars, cameras and military who were carrying heavy machine guns," a person on set said.

"He didn't have time to speak to her as it was mid-shoot," they said. "But she said afterwards how grateful she was, despite having a badly-grazed knee."

According to the Sun, several extras have suffered injuries including broken bones, cuts and bruises during the course of filming.

Pitt plays UN expert Gerry Lane in the World War Z feature, with The Killing's Mireille Enos portraying his wife. The book is a memoir of one survivor's tale.
