Monique: A Homecoming

CEBU, Philippines - This March 18, LX (LUXX) at VUDU proudly presents petite singing dynamo Monique delos Santos in Monique: A Homecoming.

A singing debut that started at the age of 7 that led to several musical lead roles, TV variety show stints, VJ work for MYX plus a gruelling American Idol 10 Hollywood week has left Monique plenty to celebrate. Fresh from unleashing her singing prowess on the latest season of American Idol, Monique comes home to Cebu in one of her most personal and intimate shows, to date.

Monique was mainly influenced by her mom, Eva delos Santos, Zee Band’s lead singer. When her mom went solo as an artist, Monique sang in most of her shows. By the age of 11, Monique played the lead role in the musical, Oliver, performing both matinee and evening shows at the Ayala Cebu Cinema.

At the age of 14, she was a part of a weekly TV variety show, Sabado na Gyud at ABSCBN Cebu. She did hosting, singing and dancing.

In 2004, Monique did a single featuring K9 in a locally released album called Mango Pop in Cebu in the song “Feels So Good”. This proved to be a great year for her: she moved to Manila after winning Studio 23 Nationwide VJ Hunt at VUDU. That same year she was a finalist for the show Trip Kita, sponsored by Colgate and ABSCBN. After that summer, she was chosen as one of the Palmolive Perfect 10 models. In August she did a commercial for Wilkins Distilled water.

Monique: A Homecoming will be a show full of gutsy tunes which includes her latest all original songs and covers from Alanis Morisette, The Corrs, Plumb, Norah Jones, Allison Krauss, Michelle Branch, Britney Spears, Frente, Sixpence and Vanessa Carlton to name a few. In addition to these pop rock songs she also does some classics from the Beatles, Madonna, James Taylor and Cyndi Lauper.

This event is powered by Tanduay Ice, Coors, Lokal, Sunstar Cebu, RCTV, BigSEED Media & Marketing Solutions and official residence Crown Regency Hotel. Cover charge is at 150, inclusive of one (1) complimentary beer. Doors open at 9:00pm for the meet and greet; show starts at 9:30 pm.
