CEBU, Philippines - The heavy downpour did not stop the over 5,000 Cebuano fans from watching their favorite Kapamilya stars at Ayala Terraces last Saturday during the Kapamilya Karavan, mounted by the ABS-CBN Regional Network Group (RNG), to spice up the Sinulog 2011 festivities.
The Kapamilya stars were led by “Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin” lead star Coco Martin, “Martha Cecilia’s Kristine’s” resident hottie Zanjoe Marudo, as well as Ron Morales of “Sabel,” Maricar Reyes of “Imortal” and Enchong Dee of “Shoutout.”
Before coming to the Queen City of the South, Coco said he already got very excited because the visit would give him the chance to express his gratitude to Cebuano fans who supported his previous teleseryes and shows.
And this coming February, he will be back in the primetime limelight with his new teleserye, “Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin.”
“Gusto kong i-take yung opportunity na ito upang magpasalamat sa ating mga kababayang Cebuano sa kanilang walang-sawang suporta sa mga projects ko with ABS-CBN. At siyempre, nais ko din silang imbitahan sa panibago naming teleserye, sa February na po yan,” said Coco.
For Enchong Dee, his participation also became an opportunity for him to travel and witness the biggest festival in the country. According to him, it’s also a great honor for him to be invited to join this year’s batch of stars gracing the Kapamilya Karavan that hit the Sinulog.
Meanwhile, Zanjoe Marudo said he was glad to be part anew of the Kapamilya Karavan, even if he came without current on-screen partner in “Martha Cecilia’s Kristine,” Bangs Garcia. He also said that he was so blessed in 2010 that’s why it’s only fitting to give back to Cebuanos.
The Kapamilya Karavan will be heading to Iloilo later this month for the Dinagyang Festival 2011, again with Coco Martin, Maricar Reyes, Ron Morales plus Gerald Anderson.
Local Kapamilya personalities also performed during the Kapamilya Karavan, such as “Kapamilya Mas Winner Ka” host Roy Empleo and “MagTV” mainstays Blinky de Leon, Phoebe Kaye Fernandez and Borgie Cabigas, along with the MOR deejays.
