Television host-comedian John Lapus is excited to move into his new home. The star of the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Super Inday and the Magic Bibe” is hoping and praying that the construction would be completed soon so he can transfer before Christmas. He’s looking forward to fixing his new home, including buying the needed furniture and fixtures that he himself chose although he has hired an interior designer to help him decorate the interiors.
John is super busy this December as he has two filmfest entries to this year’s 36th Metro Manila Film Festival. Aside from “Super Inday and the Magic Bibe,” he’s also in the cast of “Shake, Rattle and Roll XII,” where he plays an interesting role in the Isla episode directed by Topel Lee.
He also has two regular TV shows namely, “Show Me Da Manny” (which recently marked its first anniversary) and “Showbiz Central.” So even if he wants to do a soap opera, John said he could no longer accommodate it in his schedule. He’s also a voice talent in “Bantatay,” where he voices one of the dogs.
He had already finished the shooting and dubbing of “SRR XII” and he had his last shooting day for “Super Inday and the Magic Bibe” last Saturday. He only has to finish dubbing for the latter that co-stars him with Marian Rivera who plays the superheroine Inday. Of course, John would be busy promoting the movie on TV. Aside from that, John will have hosting jobs for corporate events and Christmas parties which are aplenty this holiday season.
2010 has been a banner year for John. He said that in his 37 years of existence, the year 2010 has been a fabulous one, especially in terms of career blessings. For 2011, John looks forward to doing the remake of “Temptation Island” for Regal Entertainment, as well as his launching film which is now being readied by the same film production company.

At the launching of her newest endorsement, the perfume line Lovely from the makers of Zen Zest, Megastar Sharon Cuneta expressed hope that her “tampuhan” issue with Aga Muhlach would finally be laid to rest, including its attendant controversy. While it was “not lovely” at all for Sharon to continue talking about the issue, the Megastar had no choice but to say her piece anew after members of the movie press asked her about it.
There are always two sides to an issue and people couldn’t help but take sides. But while Sharon and Aga may both have a point regarding the issue, it would be best for both to talk about it and seek an end to it behind closed doors. The Megastar said she wouldn’t want to lose her friendship with Aga since she only has a few close friends in the business. She’s still hopeful that things could be ironed out.
With regards to other matters, it is with great interest that we welcome Sharon’s statement that she’s going home to Viva Films. She is set to meet with Viva big boss Vic del Rosario (who produced many Sharon blockbusters) for a possible film project. The Megastar expressed elation that she’s returning to the fold of Viva, where she made countless hit movies that made her the Megastar that she is now. If plans don’t miscarry, she might do a project with Gabby Concepcion. If you recall, Viva’s first film project was “P.S. I Love You,” which launched the loveteam of Sharon and Gabby.

It was an early Christmas treat cum victory party that the Star for All Seasons and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos gave the members of the movie press last week. The actress-turned politician raffled off cash prizes, cellphones, and laptops to the more than 200 members of the entertainment press who showed up (whether invited or not). No one went home empty-handed since Governor Vi also gave out an early Christmas gift to everyone.
Although it was supposed to be a party, Gov. Vi also took the time to answer questions from the members of the movie press. She said she’s definitely doing a movie with Sharon Cuneta under Star Cinema although she wants to make sure that it’s going be a worthy project. “Dapat maganda ang script kasi first time namin na magkakasama ni Sharon sa pelikula. But that is definitely a go since that was one of the projects specified when I signed that contract with Star Cinema,” the good governor disclosed.
But she said that she could only devote time in doing a movie if all the projects that she wants to do for the province of Batangas would already be in place.
