CEBU, Philippines - The FREEMAN Entertainment recently witnessed GMA Network’s regional roadshow, dubbed as Kapuso Night, in neighboring Bacolod. Stars of GMA news and public affairs program “Survivor,” as well as of teleseryes “Grazilda” and the just-concluded “Trudis Liit” brought shine and luster to the City of Smiles during its recent Masskara Festival.
Tina Poblador-Magbojos, station boss of GMA TV Bacolod (and incidentally, the former marketing manager of this paper), was happy to report to us that some 10,000 people flocked at the Entertainment Plaza of SM City Bacolod to watch the show.
Some of the interesting and amusing highlights from the show included actress Pauleen Luna calling on a “handsome” guy from the audience to join her onstage, and when someone did boldly volunteer, he was met by boisterous protests from the crowd; “Survivor” host Richard Gutierrez doing a pseudo-Tribal Council, wherein the name he picked from the bowl was told to either sing or dance; the gorgeous castaway Solenn Heusaff surprising people that she can actually sing via a jazzy number (she’s launching an album soon); and the rest of the “Survivor” castaways—Aubrey Miles, Mico Aytona, Aira Bermudez, Ervic Vijandre and Moi Marcampo—sending the crowd to their feet when they all danced to the hit song “Do You Remember?”.
Other stars who were there were the charming “Trudis Liit” herself, Jillian Ward, and “Grazilda” lead actors Glaiza de Castro and Geoff Eigenmann. Glaiza told The FREEMAN in a post-event interview: “Work can be tiresome, but once you hear that kind of screaming from the audience, you won’t feel tired anymore. It’s really nice to see people enjoying the show.” (THE FREEMAN)
