Shalani hoping to reconcile with PNoy PLUS: The week's tales of breakups, exes: Vic-Pia, John Lloyd-Ruffa, Derek-Solenn

Finding out about the state of President Aquino’s love life is like trying to uncover a well-guarded state secret. But like any secret, it’s bound to spring leaks sooner or later. That the President and his girlfriend Shalani Soledad have split is already an accepted fact. The only questions that remain unanswered are when and why.

My super-reliable source tells me that the relationship began to deteriorate during the presidential campaign. But despite the fact that things were going sour, Shalani chose to join the candidate on his campaign sorties.

And get this: My source claims that Shalani is still holding out hope for a reconciliation with PNoy. But it seems that getting back together again is already out of the question.

My source says that even PNoy’s sisters are avoiding poor Shalani. A case in point:

Pinky and Viel went to a neighborhood in Metro Manila that was ravaged by fire to distribute relief goods. Shalani showed up with her own entourage. The local officials wanted the three of them to go up on stage to accept the appreciation of the victims for their help. But that didn’t happen. The sisters didn’t approach their brother’s girl, and she made no effort to approach them.

Pinky and Viel soon left, while Shalani stayed on to hand out relief goods.

But wait, there’s more. My source swears that Shalani is insecure about Liz Uy, who is being linked to PNoy, that’s why she’s eager to reconcile with him.

Another couple whose relationship is said to be on shaky ground are Vic Sotto and Pia Guanio.

The two continue to refuse to acknowledge that they have called it quits, although Pia has been dropping hints all over the place.

Just last Sunday, Pia had this to say when asked about how things are between her and Vic:

“We’re still in good terms with each other and he (Vic) knows that. I’m here for him whenever he needs me. And he’s there for me whenever I need advice.”

Sounds like a typical showbiz evasive reply. When pressed to be more specific, she continued:

“Like I said, this is something I really wanna keep between us. I really don’t want to give a status report to the rest of the world every so often. I think our relationship has come to a certain maturity that doesn’t need a label.”

Hm. Nothing much there, either.

Rumors place the date of the break-up sometime in July. But the couple seemed to be the perfect lovebirds whey they flew to California in September. That left many showbiz writers scratching their heads.

Vic, on the other hand, continues to keep his lips zipped on the matter.

How true are reports that Pia has been advised by the executives of Eat Bulaga to refrain from commenting about the supposed break-up? Nobody wants to talk, not even Pia’s manager, June Rufino.

Is Ruffa Gutierrez finally fed up with the don’t-confirm-don’t-deny antics of John Lloyd Cruz? 

In a recent message to Philippine Star Entertainment Editor Ricky Lo, Ruffa didn’t mince words, saying John Lloyd doesn’t have the b—s to “tell the truth, making me a liar. He’s still as confused as ever.”

Ruffa said she has moved on, so why shouldn’t Lloydie.

The actor apparently refuses to move on, and hasn’t stopped calling Ruffa, despite acknowledging having a relationship with Shaina Magdayao. There are even reports that he has been drinking lately to drown his sorrow at losing Ruffa.

It must be the allure of an older woman that Lloydie misses.

Solenn Heussaff has let ex-bf Derek Ramsay know that she knows how to play the game of tit for tat.

To Derek’s remark that his current gf Angelica Panganiban is “more yummy” than Solenn, Solenn has this riposte: “Richard is a gentleman and is more handsome than Derek!”
