CEBU, Philippines - GMA Network continues to reinforce its regional news and public affairs with a brand-new program for its Cebu station titled “Isyu Karon.”
Hosted by "Balitang Bisdak" reporter and former "Buena Mano" host Lou Anne Mae Rondina, "Isyu Karon" is a weekly, hour-long magazine-style program that explores burning issues in Central Visayas. The program airs every Saturday, from 7am to 8am, starting today.
The pilot episode puts the focus on the traditional commemoration of All Soul's Day-but with a twist. The FREEMAN Entertainment was treated to a preview of the pilot episode in yesterday's press launch held at the Crimson Resort & Spa in Mactan.
The show opener is packed with six stories. Kasikas sa Sam-ang bares the situation of people who continue living by living with the dead inside one of Cebu's oldest and biggest cemeteries, the Carreta. Casket Furniture shows how caskets are used in different ways by a funeral parlor in Carcar. Misteryo takes a closer look at Balitang Bisdak's news report on the non-decomposing remains of a parish priest who died 15 years ago.
Hotel Punerarya features the newest funeral parlor in Cebu that provides services akin to a five-star hotel. Balay Ni Noni explores a paranormal activity covered by a local program in one of Cebu's oldest houses with the help of the Cebu Paranormal Society. Morgue serves as an eye-opener to the sorry state of unclaimed bodies in funeral homes.
Catch pilot episode today, from 7am to 8am, on GMA 7. (THE FREEMAN)
