Red Box Karaoke, the newest karaoke lounge in Cebu City, is the perfect venue to do just that. And more. The Hongkong-based franchise officially opened their newest branch in The Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu just beside Max's Restaurant. The FREEMAN Entertainment was one of those invited for a private preview of the place and we had a blast!

This is the third outlet in the country, after Greenbelt and TriNoma, and their first outside Metro Manila. It is the second largest branch, smaller than Greenbelt but larger than TriNoma, with 21 uniquely-designed, free wifi access rooms.

What sets Red Box a class above other karaoke joints? It has the fastest song delivery system, an extensive song library of over 100,000 songs where one can search by artist, music, song or live concert. That makes it truly "karaoke on demand", which is a signature of Red Box.

Red Box also updates their library every week, has tied up with all local record labels and only airs the original chords, karaoke versions and music videos of songs, guaranteeing there are no pirated videos in their system.

No need to browse through a song book. All you need to do is type for the artist, title of the song, or genre of music you want in a monitor using a remote, and a search engine list will appear for you to choose.

This saves time compared to jotting down number codes of a specific song, which means value for your money because you get to sing more songs.

Red Box even accepts party reservations, as they have rooms (each differently themed and designed) that could seat up to 30 persons. You can adopt a party theme (80's night, Sawi sa Pag-ibig Night, etc.) by planning a playlist in advance. How fun is that?

 While we're used to the per-hour rates of regular karaoke venues in the metropolis, Red Box offers unique rate packages on a per-head basis. You can enjoy singing and chowing on their delicious buffet on your preferred time because Red Box has four-time segments that you can choose from.

Its Cebu managing director Allen Arvin Tan and Manila managing director Walden Chu pointed out that karaoke has always been thought of as an after-dinner activity, so with their timeslots, add-ons on special rooms such as billiards and poker, good food and their planned upcoming attractions such as wii and music instruments, they hope to redefine how Cebuanos think of karaoke time.
