Kim Chiu denies suicide attempt

CEBU, Philippines - Kim Chiu slammed talk about her supposed attempt to commit suicide because of her “break-up” with rumored boyfriend and perennial onscreen partner Gerald Anderson.

The Cebuana young actress told last Sunday’s “The Buzz,” that she would never cause harm to herself. “Alam mo kalokohan and katangahan para sa akin kung gawin ko ‘yon…. Papatayin ko sarili ko, bakit? Parang sinong mag-aalaga sa mga kapatid ko? Sinong bubuhay sa kanila? And may pinagagawa akong bahay, dream [house] ko, sinong magtatapos noon?” Chiu, the breadwinner of her family, said.

Reports about Chiu’s alleged attempt to kill herself first spread like wildfire in the Internet and the tabloids two months ago. The reports surfaced amid Chiu and Anderson’s consistent denials that they are in a romantic relationship.

The actress also did not directly address the supposed break-up issue in her interview on “The Buzz,” simply saying that the actor is a good person.

“Ito sasabihin ko, lahat ng tao dumadaan sa proseso ng buhay. Nasa taas, nasa ibabaw, malungkot, masaya pero dahan dahan nagiging okay naman ang lahat. Katulad ko masaya naman ako ngayon,” she said of Anderson, who is currently being romantically linked to actress Bea Alonzo. (THE FREEMAN)
