Christian, Erik lend star power to Sharon Cuneta's new reality show

- Ricky L. Calderon -

Blind item: This young actress is very controversial nowadays as she has picked up a fight with another young actress. The young actress who is perceived to be sweet and unassuming is actually a brat. She's not the type who'd do something if she doesn't feel like it, even if doing so would redound on her.

One writer witnessed how the young actress (she was still going steady then with a young actor) became "maldita" during an event held out of town. All other celebrities taking part in the event had gone out of their way to mingle with the crowd who had gathered for the event. But the young actress chose to bide her sweet time, choosing to exchange sweet nothings with her boyfriend.

When she finally decided to mingle with the crowd, she went around wearing dark eyeglasses. A fan who is obviously smitten with her, requested the young actress if she could remove her sunglasses.

"Miss, puwede mo ba tanggalin ang sunglasses mo para naman makita namin ang mga mata mo?" said the fan. But the young actress ignored her and did not bother to heed the request of the fan, who was shocked and saddened by the young actress' indifference.

Former singing contestants Christian Bautista and Erik Santos will soon be joined with Megastar Sharon Cuneta in a weekly nationwide female singing contest search called "STAR POWER: Sharon's Search for the next Female Pop Superstar."

Christian said, "I hope to contribute fun and excitement to this new singing contest. Though I didn't win before, through hard work and faith I was able to reach my dreams. I want to be able to share those valuable experiences to the contestants too."

Erik, for his part, shared, " I hope to inspire the contestants and show them not only does it take talent, but lots of patience, hard work and humility, to make it in this business."

Christian and Erik traveled to Cebu from August 19 to 21to shoot footages for the preliminary auditions. Hundreds of female contestant wannabes lined up in ABS-CBN's Studio (Cebu) for the chance to audition before the searching panel of judges, Executive Producer Crissy Baluyut, ABS-CBN Regional Network Executive Roland Padriga and Singer/Talent Manager Carlo Orosa. Last weekend, the search continued on to Davao to screen more hopefuls from the Mindanao area.

In Cebu, many female contestants shared on-camera interesting personal stories about their lives, their struggles and triumphs while going through the process of auditions.

Christian and Erik were products of the famous 2003 reality search singing contest "Star In A Million" that launched their successful singing careers.

"STAR POWER: Sharon's Search for the next Female Pop Superstar" is scheduled to air this October.
