Weekend showbiz highlights: Regine-Ogie Wedding Plans, Robin-Mariel Romance

CEBU, Philippines - Ogie, Regine to Wed This Year.

In yesterday's GMA show "Party Pilipinas," resident hosts and long-time sweethearts Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez (photo) jointly confirmed what has long been rumored: that is, they are going to marry before the year ends.

Ogie, whose annulment to former Australian wife Michelle Van Eimeren was already granted said, "Kailangan ko lang pong ibigay sa inyo ang facts para tama. Yung akin pong petisyon sa annulment ko po noong June 21, ay na-grant na po.

At kami po, kasama ng mga abugado, ay inaayos na po naming lahat para masimulan ko na ang buhay ko kasama si Regine. Kaya bago po matapos itong taon na ito, si Regine Velasquez po ay pakakasalan ko."

Turning to Regine, he said: "Higit sa lahat, nagpapasalamat ako sa 'yo, dahil muli akong lumigaya... Salamat po, salamat po. I'm very, very happy and I hope you're happy too, my sweetheart! I love you, honey, and I promise you'll be the happiest woman."

The couple who got emotional when they made the announcement made no mention of the exact wedding date, but according to Philippine Star entertainment editor Ricky Lo in his column yesterday, they are going to marry Dec. 22.
