CEBU, Philippines - Who among these five lookers will be the next male MagTV Na! host?
Dan, Borgy, Dandie, Zerey, and Marc bested a good number of auditionees who answered the call to replace former MagTV Na! co-host and former Mr. Cebu candidate McBilly Wilford Sy, who had earlier migrated to the United States with his family. The winner will be joining female Ka-Mags regulars Blinky de Leon and Phoebe Fernandez in ABS-CBN Cebu’s Sunday morning magazine show.
The top five underwent many tests and activities, said MagTV Na! executive producer Adrian Diongzon. These included a make-over by Jonas Borces, and a photoshoot with Dan Douglas Ong (the pictures of which are the ones you see in these pages). To make them camera-ready, they were also provided outfits by designer Protacio.
A deliberation through a question and answer test was held at Vudu. The judges were Miss Cebu 2008 Sian Elizabeth Maynard, radio and TV personality Mommy Tiks, and Banat News Hugyaw editor and The FREEMAN entertainment columnist Ryan Mark.
The finals night was already taped last Tuesday at Formo, so tune in tomorrow (Sunday) at 8:30 am, to find out which one of these guys won. In the meantime, here are some fun facts from the Cebuano hunks.

Why should you be the next MagTV Na! host?
I feel I deserve to be in MagTV. I've tried so many things and now I want to try something new. I want to be seen on TV and to do what I love which is hosting.
Expectations:
I expect to really reach out to the people—not just to give them information, but entertain them as well. Give them a reason to wake up every Sunday morning.
Work-out/diet regimen:
Nothing too strict. I just make sure that I get enough rest and don't overwork myself.
Ideal girl:
I don’t actually have an ideal because who knows, the one out there is not really ideal at first but I can grow into her, and she can grow into me. But it's important that she have a sense of humor and down-to-earth.
Ideal date:
Nothing too fancy because going all-out could somehow be deceiving. Maybe a picnic in a garden. Or maybe I'll cook and we'll have dinner at home.
How are you as a boyfriend?
I think I did alright in my past relationship but for sure, I have many things to learn and improve on. Definitely, I’ll try to do better in the future.

I basically eat anything because I need the strength for my job as a teacher. I try to eat vegetables and avoid eating food that’s cooked in oil. I make sure to relax by writing.

Mr. Mandaue 2010 first runner-up
Why should you be the next MagTV Na! host?
Because it’s a great honor and privilege to be a part of the public’s Sunday routine. I always find fulfillment through service, maybe because I’m a nurse by heart and being a nurse you are trained to serve. Being a host is a great opportunity for me. This newfound career not only open a lot of doors for me, but it will also somehow cater to my hunger for public service. I joined the search with no expectations in mind. Yes, we auditioned to win but in joining any contest, I’m the type that simply enjoys every bit of the experience. I always keep this in mind: Aim high but expect less.
Expectations:
I expect to experience and learn new things. This can further develop my personality and intelligence. I could grow and mature as a person.
Work-out/diet regimen:
I do work out and keep my body fit but I’ve stopped these past months due to laziness. But surely, I’ll be back at the gym again. I basically eat everything I see but I also take into consideration to eat everything in moderation to preserve my health as well.
Ideal girl:
She doesn't necessarily have to be pretty or sexy, but someone who possesses wit, intelligence, an aura of confidence but not conceited. She should be lambing, thoughtful, sensitive and can ride on with my childishness.
Ideal date:
A date on the outdoors would be perfect because I’m a nature freak. A camping trip or anything that has got to do with nature would be lovely.
Showbiz crush:
Anne Curtis
How do you let a girl know you like her?
I’m the introvert type of guy. If I like someone, I keep it to myself but I would slowly befriend her in a way that she herself eventually notices that I like her. I usually show it by making lambing and tickling a girl. I always make sure that she shows a smile on her face. That way, she’ll miss me somehow.
How are you as a boyfriend?
I’m the lenient type. I don’t keep my girl on a leash of limitations because that’s not healthy. But of course, with the freedom, one should also keep in mind the limitations because it’s already automatic that once you’re in a relationship, I’m for you, and you’re for me.
