Outpost's Indie Film sundays to feature "Confessional"
CEBU, Philippines - “Confessional,” the international award-winning mockumentary shot here in Cebu, will have a free screening on July 25 for this month’s Indie Film Sundays at The Outpost, Lahug.
Screening begins at 9 p.m. “Confessional” is described as a “must-see film for every Cebuano.”
Helmed by Jerrold Tarog and Ruel Dahis Antipuesto, “Confessional” won Best Film in the First Features Section of the 10th Osian Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema in New Delhi, India.
It swept the 2007 Cinema One Originals, garnering seven of the major awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for Antipuesto and Tarog, with Best Supporting Actor for Cebu’s very own Publio Briones III.
In 2008, it was well-acclaimed by the 24th PMPC Star Awards with the Best Picture win by the Cinemanila International Festival, being its Best Film for the Southeast Asian category.
Prior to this, Antipuesto who is director, line producer and director of photography of the said film will conduct “SHOOTUP: A Video Production Workshop” from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. which is an initiative of the ArtistKo (Artists and Musicians Cooperative). (MEEV)
