CEBU, Philippines - SM Supermalls all over the country celebrate World Environment Day with the film screening of eye-opening environmental documentaries via the Green Film Festival.
The Festival happens at the SM Cinemas of SM Supermalls nationwide this June 28 and 29 and every third Monday and Tuesday of the month thereafter. In SM City Cebu, the Green Film Festival will be at SM Cinema 5. Free showing starts at 8am, 10am, and 12nn.
The film showing will showcase three documentaries that will help Filipinos and its viewers learn about different environmental crises and their effects.
The documentaries to be screened include State of the Planet, a documentary produced by BBC and the Discovery Channel talks about the destruction of the rainforests, extinction of the species, global warning and rising sea levels and other ecological crises the planet Earth faces. Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio joins the green movement with the film The 11th Hour, wherein he explores the devastating effects of carbon dioxide emissions on the planet and the possible ways we can switch and use renewable energy sources. Finally, the most elaborate documentary series ever produced gives a fresh perspective at the earth’s last wilderness and its wildlife. Called Planet Earth, the film was commissioned by BBC and is described as “the definitive look at the diversity of our planet."
