Christian Bautista wins in Indonesian celeb dating show
CEBU, Philippines - Singer Christian Bautista continues to excite fans in Indonesia, as he recently visited this neighboring country for a series of performances, media interviews, and appearances in popular programs.
According to a Philippine Entertainment Portal report, the crooner was one of the three celebrity male contestants in one of the latest episodes of the top-rating reality dating game show “Take Celebrity Out” on the leading Indonesian channel, Indosiar. After shooting for the dating show in a studio in Jakarta, he also guested in a music program and sitcom.
In “Take Celebrity Out,” Pep reported that as soon as Christian's name was announced and as soon as he made his way into the studio by singing from behind the screen, all the ladies in the audience broke into cheers and screams.
The dating game is a franchise of FremantleMedia (and also spawned a Philippine franchise on GMA 7 which debuted last Monday and hosted by RnB singer Jay-R).
During the show, the singer, who’s known to be single since he broke up with singer Rachelle Ann Go some years back, was tasked to search for “love” among the 30 celebrity single ladies. They included the host of the program, Yuanita, who by her own admission joined because of her huge crush on Christian.
The episode, which was aired recently and could be now viewed on the YouTube video sharing site, ended with the audience choosing Christian and actress Smitha, who both took home five million rupiah in cash.
In addition, his Indonesian version of “Please Be Careful With My Heart” (“Tetaplah Dihatiku” in Indonesian) has now reportedly reached the no.1 spot in Indonesian charts for this month of April. The singer is also set to release and promote a Mandarin Chinese version of the Jose Mari Chan revival in Singapore next month.
