TV5 is trying out a new combination in the persons of Alex Gonzaga and Calla Lily vocalist Kean Cipriano, who are playing the lead roles in the TV5 youth-oriented program BFGF which airs every Sunday at 4pm.
The show is the newest among the various programs being launched by the TV5 network with its bid to become the third force in the network war.
Kean passed the audition for the program conducted by Bb. Joyce Bernal, who also directs the show. According to Kean, acting is something new to him. At first, he related, he was kind of uneasy as he first tried acting before the camera, as opposed to singing rock songs with his band Calla Lily.
“I am beginning to enjoy it,” said Kean at the presscon for BFGF held the other day at Celsius Bar at Scout Rallos (corner Tomas Morato) in Quezon City. He’s looking forward to the next taping days of BFGF so he could have more time to bond with his fellow actors who are a mixture of ABS-CBN Star Magic Talents and GMA Artist Center contract stars.
Kean is quite controversial because he was linked to Arci Muñoz and Rachelle Ann Go. But he says he still wants people to remember as Kean of Calla Lily even if he’s now controversial on his own because of his being linked to female celebrities. But he feels so blessed with the break given to him by TV5 to be the lead actor of BFGF.
On the other hand, Alex, who was introduced in the open forum as TV5’s princess, said she was taken by surprise by the tag given to her.
“It’s flattering but there are so many stars here in TV5 who are also deserving of such title. Maybe they gave me that tag because I was among those who started out in TV5 when it was launched two years ago,” said Alex who has currently five shows on TV5 that include Locomoco U and PO5, just to name a few.
TV5 lightens up your Sunday afternoon with the “heartthrob and the yaya fairytale” of the teen comedy program BFGF—the story of a young “probinsiyanang yaya” and the rich and handsome brat whose opposite worlds collide to produce a funny, heart-warming and eye-opening love story starring Alex as the yaya Claring and Kean as the rich brat Kean.
The show also features the fresh faces of Chris Cayzer, Angelo Patrimonio, Zyrus “Poknat” Desamparado, JR de Guzman, Nico Ibaviosa, Alyanna and Anykka Asistio, Louise delos Reyes, Dianne Medina, and John Manalo with Tuesday Vargas and Ramon Christopher.

Over at GMA 7, RNB Platinum Prince Jay-R takes his first crack in being a TV host by taking the reins of Take Me Out, the first studio-based dating show that is bound to make waves across the archipelago as it sets an arena where singles, who are in search of their perfect match, can find love.
Jay-R considers it a big opportunity and a big challenge as well to have been chosen by GMA-7 to play the matchmaker to a pool of 30 single ladies who hope to meet and date the man of their dreams. He is primed to inject his unique brand of character, charisma and style in hosting this first-of-its-kind reality dating game show.
“I really want to try hosting this kind of a show and I won’t let go of this opportunity,” said Jay-R.
He said that he’s definitely feeling the pressure since he’s taking on the slot of Family Feud (which is a top-rater) plus the fact that Take Me Out had a successful run in several countries including Denmark, The Netherlands, Sweden, Spain and UK.
Take Me Out promises to have lots of twists, laughs and surprises which will surely entertain and spice up the love lives of all single ladies who are looking for Mr. Right. Getting a date is made easier and extra thrilling because the girls are gorgeous and the guys are really worth to be dated.
Each of the 30 single ladies, who come from different places, different personalities and backgrounds are assigned a specially designed lighted podium with their respective names. The mystery guy must impress the women through first impressions, surprise interviews and videos about himself.
If the ladies like what they see, they leave their lights on; but if they are not amused by his antics, they turn their lights off, declare themselves out of the game and exclude themselves from the chance to date the bachelor. At the end of three rounds, the tables turn and the power transfers to the guy as he decides who he wants to go on a date with from the women who left their lights on.
