The IMAX experience coming to Cebu this May
CEBU, Philippines - Cebuanos are finally going to experience that larger-than-life cinematic experience as SM City Cebu launches its IMAX Theater come May 2010.
This was confirmed by Ms. Marissa Fernan, Executive VP of SM Holdings for Visayas and Mindanao, during the launch of the Global Pinoy Center last week, as one of the exciting treats that shoppers can expect of SM Supermalls.
To be housed inside the SM Cebu Cinema 4, this will be the first IMAX theater in Cebu and the third IMAX theater in the Philippines – the first opened at SM Mall of Asia and the second one was at SM North Edsa. And now the third one in Cebu.
In an IMAX theater the projected images extend beyond the prime viewing area, creating the illusion that the screen's boundaries have disappeared.
"SM Supermalls is bringing IMAX to Cebu because we want our shoppers to experience the future of film entertainment," Fernan said.
