PLUS: Marian Rivera not threatened byClaudine Barretto’s entry to the Kapuso network
Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo, together with their manager Popoy Caritativo, threw a simple thanksgiving cum Christmas party for the press last Saturday. Aside from the Christmas basket and cash gift which they gave away, they also raffled off cash prizes to the invited press people as their way of saying thank you for the support that was given them through the years.
Marian, who had been taping Darna almost everyday, said that she makes of the very little free time that she has by fulfilling her other commitments like TV guest stints, pictorials and out-of-town sorties.
When asked what gift she’d want to receive this Christmas, the popular actress said that she wants to have statues of the characters that she had played onscreen like Darna, Dyesebel and Marimar.
When asked how she feels that Claudine Barretto has joined the Kapuso network, Marian said she’s very happy and is not at all threatened with the entry of the former Kapamilya actress into the Kapuso network. In fact, she’s looking forward to the day that they might be able to do a TV show together. She isn’t afraid that Claudine might snatch away from her the title as Primetime Queen of the Kapuso network.
“That title was only given to me. I did not ask for it so if ever na akin talaga iyan, akin talaga iyan. I am quite confident with the thought that it’s the quality of my work that speaks for whatever title that the people bestow on me,” said Marian, who is likewise looking forward to reviving her tandem with Dingdong Dantes next year via a dramatic soap opera which Marian declined to identify.
She is likewise looking forward to her and Dingdong’s inclusion in the concert series of Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez next year.

Even if many are predicting that Sharon Cuneta would surely emerge as best actress in the forthcoming Metro Manila Film Festival for her work in the Regal Entertainment movie “Mano Po 6,” the megastar wouldn’t want to place her hopes high.
“Of course, I would love to win but I am not giving it much thought since I don’t want to be disappointed nor do I want to raise my hopes too high. But I must say that we do have a good project in hand and I’d like to give credit to Direk Joel Lamangan in putting everything together very well,” said the megastar of the film, which now makes her a certified Regal baby.
“All the other entries are equally good but we also did our best come up with a very good film that is comparable to other filmfest entries,” said Sharon. Of course, Mano Po boast of expensive production design and a star-studded assembly of topnotch artists like Christopher de Leon, Heart Evangelista, Zsa Zsa Padilla and a lot more that should make Mano Po 6 as the most anticipated MMFF entry.
“This film is going to be an exciting one,” said Sharon. The presence of Sharon Cuneta makes the film a must-see viewing fare on Christmas day, the first day of the festival.
