Monique Wilson at Alegre

CEBU, Philippines - Internationally-renowned Filipina stage celebrity Monique Wilson (shown here with resort General Manager Fritz Kahler) was a special guest at Alegre Beach Resort & Spa recently. She chose Alegre over other resorts for its exemplary facilities and services.

Monique Wilson is probably best known for her role as “Kim” in Andrew Lloyd Weber’s famed stage musical “Miss Saigon” from 1989-1992, serving as alternate to Lea Salonga in the lead role as the Vietnamese dancer who was eventually abandoned by her American boyfriend-soldier. The musical was later reprised hundreds of times in several countries, resulting in unprecedented box office returns and extended runs in theatres worldwide.

Monique presently commutes between London and Manila regularly for the past eight years. Her 15-year old theatre group, New Voice Company, has elevated itself from the socially provocative and innovative theatre genre and has recently ventured into albums, independent films, and publishing. The group has toured Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan for its rendition of the famed “The Vagina Monologues.” Last 2005, Monique feted her 25th year of fruitful existence as a stage celebrity.

Situated some 80 kilometers up north in the town of Sogod, Cebu, Alegre Beach Resort & Spa is regarded as a prized hideaway for its select clientele who seek seclusion amidst grandeur and space.
