After dramatic rescue, did Richard, Cristine go on a romantic getaway?
Plus: The mysterious sacking of Sunshine Dizon; Workload takes a toll on Glaiza de Castro's health
Mystery still shrouds the sacking of Sunshine Dizon from GMA’s afternoon soap “Tinik Sa Dibdib.” In a short official statement, the network cited “health reasons” for pulling out Sunshine, without giving specifics. It advised the actress to “rest in order to fully recover.”
So what’s ailing Sunshine? It’s anybody’s guess. Earlier reports speculated that she was pregnant, although her mother swore that is not the case. Another buzz is that Sunshine was depressed after her break-up with her boyfriend. The actress herself is tightlipped. She is said to have flown to the US to stay with her dad. There is no word when she would return.
That means Sunshine won’t also be appearing in her other shows at GMA, “Unang Hirit” and “SOP.” In fact the network has already named Nadine Samonte as Sunshine’s replacement in “Tinik Sa Dibdib.”

Glaiza de Castro’s body went numb all over while taping for the local remake of the Koreanovela “Stairway to Heaven.” The reason: overfatigue. Glaiza, who plays the scheming Eunice in the series, said she suddenly couldn’t breathe. “So I left the taping and that’s when I went numb from head to foot. Then my vision blurred. I can’t remember a thing after that.”
Glaiza was taken to a hospital, where doctors told her she suffered from hyperventilation and that she needed to rest. Before taping for “Stairway to Heaven,” she had shot some scenes for an indie film “425,” which lasted until 2 in the morning. The call time for “Stairway” was for 4 a.m., so she had just a quick nap and a shower before proceeding to the telenovela’s set.
Glaiza said she was very much into her role, and that could have contributed to the hyperventilation. “I was so emotionally and physically stressed,” she explained.

Richard Gutierrez couldn’t believe that showbiz columnist Lolit Solis had gotten wind of his 10-hour getaway with Cristine Reyes, his co-star in the forthcoming film “Patient X,” in Anvaya Cove in Subic.
“How did she know?” a surprised Richard asked. After Tita Lolit let the cat out of the bag, Richard had to explain that he and Cristine went to Anvaya “to unwind.” On Cristine’s part, she did say on Twitter that she went to Subic, but she said she was with some friends. She didn’t mention Richard.
I don’t see why the two have to deny there’s an attraction between them. They’re both eligible and unattached.

“This Is It,” Michael Jackson’s concert movie, has the makings of a big hit. Tickets for the film, which opens two weeks from now, are sold out and exhibitors are planning additional screenings to meet the demand. That’s surprising for a project that’s made up mostly of footage of the pop icon’s rehearsal for his concerts in London. He died on June 25, just weeks after the show was to open.
I guess Jacko’s hordes of fans are eager to catch a final glimpse of their idol.
“This Is It” runs for 112 minutes, quite long for a typical full-length movie, so I guess the fans will have their fill.
