Libera's angelic voices live in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - The distinctive sounds of Libera have reached the different corners of the world since its auspicious beginnings in the 80s. This October, this all-boy vocal group from London will be bringing their angelic voices to Cebu with a rare concert on October 28, starting 8pm, at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Lahug.

Their albums have had topped both mainstream and classical charts in many countries, including the USA and the UK, where they performed alongside such world-famous tenors Andrea Bocelli and the late Luciano Pavarotti. Other big-name artists they have performed with are the critically-acclaimed Icelandic performer Bjork, American rocker Neil Diamond, and the British singer-songwriter Elton John. 

The talented, young singers of Libera come from a variety of different schools and backgrounds and join together at a church in South London, where they rehearse and perform for many hours each week.

The youngest is seven years old, while the oldest members are aged 14, but many remain to sing with the lower voices of the group.

Alongside their unique Libera music, these young boys showcase a wide repertoire from classical and cathedral pieces to works for pop and media productions.

They have been tapped to sing in soundtracks and musical scoring for films such as “Romeo & Juliet,” “Twelve Monkeys,” “Hannibal,” among many others.

On TV and radio, they have appeared with Dame Edna, Cliff Richard and Russell Watson, and even recorded music for a forthcoming Playstation game.
