Angelina and Yaya head to the big screen

Michelle Van Eimeren, the ex-wife of Ogie Alcasid, is marrying her boyfriend Mark Murrow this November, but Ogie will have to wait a little more time before he can fulfill his dream of marrying girlfriend Regine Velasquez.

“She (Michelle) can already get married because we are already divorced in Australia. On my part, I still have to wait for our annulment here in the Philippines,” said the singer in an interview with The FREEMAN at the presscon of his latest film Michael V titled Angelina and Yaya, The Spoiled Brat Movie.

Ogie said he can’t say exactly when the annulment is going to be granted which would pave the way for him and Regine to finally get married. But as they say, patience is a virtue. All that Ogie and Regine can do for now is to wait until such time will come.

Ogie turned 42 last August 27 and as a gimmick of the presscon of their newest movie, he was given a children’s party. It was supposed to be Angelina’s 7th birthday. Ogie and Michael V attended the presscon as their characters Angelina and Yaya, respectively.

What is his wish for his birthday? “Sana ang health ko ay palaging okey. Sana ang kids would continue to be as a good as they are. My eldest daughter Leila is turning 12 while my second daughter is turning 7. Actually, Leila would be in high school already so she’s going to transfer to a new school,” said the singer.

Ogie has two regular shows on GMA 7—SOP and Bubble Gang. Still ongoing are the hilarious game show Hole in the Wall and Celebrity Duets 3, which has just started.

Hole in the Wall would end sometime in October, while Celebrity Duets 3 would have a new champion by the November.

Actress-turned public servant Aiko Melendez is certain to run for vice mayor of Quezon City in next year’s elections. But she still had to go through the selection process to be done by the Lakas party. Since majority of those who expressed their desire to run as vice mayor are coming from the Lakas party, all of them would have to go through the selection process before an official candidate is declared.

“I am ready to run and I believe I have prepared myself well for the job. I think my nine years as a member of the city council would serve me in good stead as I handle a new responsibility if ever I get elected as Vice Mayor,” said Aiko who’s making a film comeback via Angelina and Yaya, The Spoiled Brat Movie where she plays the mother of Angelina (portrayed by Ogie Alcasid) with former husband Jomari Yllana playing her husband in the film directed by Uro dela Cruz.

It’s also her comeback film since she did Filipinas, the filmfest entry of Viva Films, some six years ago. Aiko’s the first choice of Mr. Tony Tuviera (of APT Productions which is co-producing the movie with GMA Films) to play the role of Angelina’s mom. She can’t say to Mr. T who is her godfather in her wedding. Besides she misses showbiz and making movies, thus she considers it a big opportunity to be a part of this comedy flick that is set for release on September 23.

Aiko said she had fun doing the role of Angelina’s mom and acting opposite Jomari, her estranged husband and father of her firstborn Andre. “Jomari and I are in good terms now and whatever it was that happened to us before, I’ve forgotten now. I’ve moved on. Our son is also glad that we did a film together,” said Aiko. After two failed marriages, Aiko is not yet too keen on taking another plunge into marriage. She rather take care of her children first and enjoy her time with Andre and daughter Martina.
