Ruffa's "young suitor" causes rift with mother Annabelle

-

CEBU, Philippines – Feisty showbiz mother Annabelle Rama confirmed that her daughter Ruffa Gutierrez has left their Dasmariñas home due to a rift over the latter’s “young suitor.”

The confirmation was made in the showbiz-oriented program Star Talk yesterday in a message sent to one of its hosts, Philippine Star entertainment editor, Ricky Lo.

Rama, who has always been vocal about the personal affairs of her children, said that the “young suitor” has no respect for her daughter by pursuing her; she who is several years older than him and has two children already from a previous marriage. “Ang bata-bata mo pa, wala kang respeto sa anak ko,” Annabelle was quoted by Lo as saying. Rama further expressed her disapproval towards the young suitor of Ruffa by telling him to stop sending food and showing interest, et cetera.

There was no mention of who this young suitor is, but actor John Lloyd Cruz has been romantically linked to Ruffa Gutierrez for some weeks now. John Lloyd was Ruffa’s co-star in the now-defunct primetime series “I Love Betty La Fea” wherein they played half-siblings. In previous TV interviews, Ruffa has rejected insinuations that they are an item, while John Lloyd has already denied that Ruffa was the cause of his breakup with a magazine editor.

The actor is in his mid-20s, while Ruffa is in her mid-30s. Ruffa was previously married to Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas. The marriage crumbled amid allegations of spousal abuse.
