CEBU, Philippines - In this year’s Miss Mandaue, 15 lovely candidates are vying for a crown that represents true beauty and womanly independence. Wit, poise, personality and grace will help determine who among these ladies will bear the title Miss Mandaue 2009, the crown of which will be relinquished by reigning queen Rizzini Gomez.
With tonight as the Grand Coronation Night, whoever is the winner will not just be a beauty queen for a night, but will hold the responsibility of promoting Mandaue and take to heart the vision of this city.
“Brains come first before beauty,” this is what the people behind Miss Mandaue believe.
This annual search serves as a highlight in this year’s fiesta celebration of Mandaue City.
Among the strong bets include former Ms. Southwestern University 2007 Dyzsa Jagna. Just recently, Jagna got the Best in Resort award during the Miss Mandaue 2009 pre-pageant at the Microtel Inn and Suites-Mactan.
Another crowd favorite is Ma. Tanchellie Anne Lumbre Lobete. She’s a Tourism Student of the University of Cebu–Banilad and the reigning Miss UC-Intramurals. Lobete was also adjudged as the Darling of the Press in this year’s Miss Mandaue.
Despite these candidates strong showing, there’s no telling yet as who will ultimately win the crown. The show will be held at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
