Van Roxas showbiz career on hold for studies
CEBU, Philippines – The “Pinoy Dream Academy” Season 2 hunk Van Roxas (whose real name is Van Louelle Pojas) will, for the meantime, bid goodbye to show business as he begins his one-year course in License Practical Nursing in the United States this coming May.
This was disclosed by his father, Lemuel Pojas, during the Kapamilya Caravan in Robinson’s Place Cebu recently. He said that Van has discontinued his studies at Cebu Doctors’ University where he was taking up Physical Therapy. Still, Van made sure that he’s still going to take up a course that is related to medicine.
Further clarifications regarding this latest development in Van’s career and personal life will soon be made by Van’s manager, Mario Colmenares. At any rate, Colmenares told The FREEMAN that he will also be giving another “major announcement” that will surely excite Van’s fans.
The female fans of Van were delighted upon reading this in his Facebook account: “Van Louelle went from being ‘married’ to ‘single’.” According to Colmenares, however, that Facebook account was fake. Nevertheless, Van confirmed to The FREEMAN that he’s single again for the time being.
“Yes, I’m single. Okay raman ko. Dali raman ko nakarecover,” Van said. His relationship with his ex-girlfriend lasted for two years, and “misunderstandings” were major reasons behind their breakup.
When asked on how he’s handling the fame that comes with his showbiz career so far, he said, “Be humble always, tagad-tagad ba. Wa ko kabaw nga sikat nako! Ha ha ha! Kung managad (ang tawo) tagdon pud nako.”
His father said that Van has never changed; he has remained a down-to-earth and understanding son. And despite being new in the music and showbiz industry, Van is already helping out his family.
And with regards to the issue that Van’s mother has been opposing his showbiz career, his father said, “Naa lang gyud to’y reason iyang mama ba. Gusto gyud to makahuman siya. Okay naman siguro sila kay nag-uban man to sila sa Chicago pag-concert nila didto. Nasuko gyud to sa una kay wa man gyud to nakabalo. Ako raman ang naingnan dayon ni Van. Magpabilin ming supportive niya.”
With the ongoing nationwide auditions for the next batch of scholars for “Pinoy Dream Academy” Season 3, Van offers this piece of advice to all the PDA hopefuls: “Linya lang bisan init. Kahibalo kong init gyud. Kung kabalo mo nga naa mo’y potential, sige padayon. Paningkamuti nalang gyud kay tuloy-tuloy na gyud na.”
