Miguel Escueta performs at the Ayala Cebu's Grad Sale

CEBU, Philippines - Singer-songwriter Miguel Escueta kicks off Ayala Center Cebu’s four-day sale which will run from March 27 to 31, 2009. Escueta will perform a one-hour set at the Activity Center for shoppers tomorrow, March 27, 4pm.

The 24-year-old Escueta first entered the Philippine music scene in 2003 when he won first runner-up in Magic 89.9’s Acoustic Break competition while performing songs by John Mayer, The Beatles and The Goo Goo Dolls. After graduating from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2006, Escueta landed a record deal with MCA Music and soon after recorded his debut album “I Am M.E.”

His original compositions Falling Away, Isipin and Take Me There, were well-received on radio and on national music channels. Miguel Escueta and singer Julianne have also collaborated to record a Filipino version of This is Me, a song from Disney movie Camp Rock.

Catch Escueta with his band as he sings his original hits and renditions like Blue Monday by ‘80’s British band New Order and Just Like Heaven by The Cure tomorrow, March 27, 4PM at the Activity Center.

Also happening during the Graduation Sale will be the “In Flying Colors: Live Mannequin Show” at various Paseos of the mall on March 28. Ayala Center Cebu is also joining Earth Hour, global warming awareness initiative wherein homes, offices and other establishments will switch off lights for an hour. Earth Hour will be on March 28 and for the Philippines occurs at 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. On March 30, 7 p.m., international pop sensation Secondhand Serenade will give a live performance at The Terraces.
