Two fine actresses are making a comeback via "Magkaibigan," the filmfest entry of Maverick Films featuring Christopher de Leon and Senator Jinggoy Estrada. They are Dawn Zulueta and Maricel Laxa.

It took director Jose Javier Reyes to convince the two to come out hibernation and make their return on the big screen. Dawn plays the wife of Christopher, while Maricel portrays Jinggoy's better half.

Both Dawn and Maricel are award-winning actresses. "Magkaibigan" also marks Dawn's return to the Metro Manila Film Festival, for which she did a film many years back, also with Boyet as leading man.

Maricel, who also did several movies with Direk Joey Reyes at the helm, is also an award-winning actress, having won a best supporting actress trophy for a film that was also directed by Joey Reyes.

"Magkaibigan" is inspired by the real-life friendship of Jinggoy and the late actor Rudy Fernandez—one touching story of friendship that many people could relate to.
